My sister just mentioned that TWITTER, the site which supposely provides the latest internet updates, is possibly closing down…according to rumours by some fans of the site. This is probably not true and is just a hoax.
This incident reminded me of whether computer spirits can reside in computers. Or can spirit or supernatural communicate with us? Can they reside in foreign objects?
A couple of years I encountered a strange incident with a computer at work. I was then working for a construction company and was working late. By the time I got back to the office that day, it was dark and the twilight light state had blotted out the night sky . It was a breezy night and I felt a cold unnatural breeze. The office is old two-storey bungalow, was actually constructed in the 1960s or 1970s, then converted to our present office. It was however a really long tiring and tough day and I longed to go home.
My secretary had already left for the day. The entire office was dark except with the only light coming from my room and light from my secretary's work place. The rest of the office was dark, except for shadows cast by light from the outside. I desperately needed her type to have typed a memo which I needed to send out the next day but I found she had't done it. I was upset and frustrated with my secretary that she had notd type the memo because I really urgently needed it. I decided to do it myself and turned her computer and her printer on.
I decided to take a toilet break in the meantime before getting started on the computer. The toilet was located at the pantry towards the back of the building. When there, I briefly heard strange noises coming from inside the office building. It was the unmistaken sound of the printer printing. To add to my confusion, I smelt a faint fragrance which seemed to pervade the area.
There had been some talk about strange noises at the toilet area and some claimed that they had heard of sounds coming from inside the building even when there was no one around. I hadn't paid much attention to these type of talk as I considered them to be nonsensical and unsubstantiated beliefs.
Nonetheless I was a bit unsettled about the noise I heard. When I got back to my office, I found the office still empty and I did not hear any noise. Curiosity got the better of me and I quickly entered my secretary's work area. There was no one around and I was confused about the cause of the printing sound earlier. I looked at the printer and I felt a chill run down my spine and my heart raced wildly. There in front of the printer, was a printed paper which read, "I am here!".
I felt a cool eerie breeze and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Shocked and dismayed, I quickly closed up and left.
